Close of entries - what happens next

A number of events had only one or two entries, so would not be racing for a medal. The submitting adminstrators of those crews have been e-mailed to ask if the crew wishes to race in the category entered, to commute to another category if available or to withdraw for a full refund. Offers to move category are made 'blind' - the crews are told only that they would have opposition in an event and so a chance of a medal, NOT who the opposition are.
These crews have been asked to respond with a decision by noon on Wednesday 18 October. If any choose to withdraw, places in start order will be allocated to completed entries in order of completion.
The start order will then be finalised and posted on the race website on Friday 20 October. BROE will then re-open for substitutions, with the 50% rule in force.
