It is the responsibility of the individual clubs to enter only crews and coxswains that are sufficiently competent to race. Crews must be capable of completing a ten-mile outing, and may be on the water for two hours.
If a club enters a crew that is deemed not to be sufficiently competent, the crew will be escorted off the course and action will be taken against the offending club. Steers and Coxswains from all clubs should also be familiar with the Tideway Code which applies at all time except when the river is closed for the race. This include warm-up outings and rowing back to your host club after the last crew has crossed the finish line.
START ORDER

SUBSTITUTIONS
ALL substitutions MUST be declared – crews racing with undeclared substitutes will be disqualified.
If at all possible, substitutions should be made on the British Rowing Online Entry system by 10.30am on 22nd November, after which substitutions can be made via email to vetfoursheadentries@gmail.com until race start time. No substitutions will be accepted after race start time other than for medical reasons.
For substitutions involving more than a 50% crew change, or that would make the crew ‘underage’ for their Masters category, please e-mail the entries secretary – vetfoursheadentries@gmail.com – with full details of the proposed change. In these situations, the crew will then race for Time Only.
Note: For full information on substitutions, see 7-2-4 Crew Composition in the Rules of Racing. In particular, see 7-2-4(j): All Masters crews shall race at their age category as shown in the draw and substitutes shall not be permitted if they would result in making the crew ineligible for that age category.
Crews may not change category once the start order has been published.
