Veteran Events
Veteran (Masters) A (born 1984 or earlier) to H, for open, women's and mixed crews in coxed fours (4+), coxless fours (4-) and coxless quadruple sculls (4x).
Mixed crews must contain at least two women (excluding coxswains).
The committee reserves the right to amalgamate adjacent categories (i.e., A and B, but not A and C) and apply the appropriate veteran handicap.
Veteran Novice Events
Veteran novices will race as one category, rather than being split by age. The novice events will, however, appear as Masters A on the online entry system. Coxed fours (4+) and coxed quadruple sculls (4x+) only, for open, women's and mixed crews.
Mixed crews must contain at least two women (excluding coxswains).
These events are aimed at those who have relatively little racing experience. The committee therefore asks veteran crews that are novice 'on paper' but have substantial racing experience to enter their age category, and reserves the right to move up crews as it deems necessary.
No competitor (excluding coxswains) who won a novice event in the 2008, 2009 or 2010 Veteran Fours Head may compete in a veteran novice event in the 2011 race.
